The Vision
Because pleasure does not
deserve a bad reputation.
tender is not a sex shop.
We are a concept store for sexual wellness, contemporary design, and genuine connection, located in the heart of Cologne, open to everyone who wants more than what has been offered so far. No dim lights. No clichés. No discomfort at the doorstep.
What you'll find here is a space that breathes. One that doesn't judge you, doesn't categorize you, and doesn't ask why you're there. Instead: products that impress. Art that opens up. Conversations that matter. And the feeling that you are exactly where you belong. Just be yourself, with whomever you come, and with everything that makes you curious.
We want to desexualize sex.
Sounds strange. It isn't.
Sexuality is part of life – as natural as eating, sleeping, talking, loving, arguing, and making up. And yet, for centuries, it has been given a packaging that either hides it or over-dramatizes it, that normalizes or commercializes it, that has alienated so many people from it that the word itself sometimes sounds unpleasant.
tender wants to make sexuality visible. Not through unrealistic over-dramatization, educational campaigns, or wagging fingers, but through a space where sexuality can simply be part of life.
We believe that one can talk about the body without blushing and, above all, that pleasure is not a secret one carries within themselves.
More than a store.
An experience space.
At tender, we offer sexual wellness products that we have selected with the same care one would use to choose a good wine or a book to give to someone to whom you want to say something but can't find the right words. Nothing here is by chance. Everything has a reason to be here.
And because we believe that knowledge is just as important as having the right product on the shelf, we offer readings, workshops, and discussions that ask questions no one else asks. Openly, without an agenda, with genuine interest in what concerns people.
For you. Really
Many say that. We mean it.
tender is for people in relationships and for people alone. For those who know what they want, and for those who are just realizing that they want more than what they know. For queer people, for FLINTA*, for everyone who has never felt fully seen in other stores. For the curious without category, for the experienced without arrogance, for everyone who just wants to browse, without pressure or the need to justify themselves.
The idea behind tender is actually very simple: a place where you feel comfortable even before you've bought anything. One where, as soon as you walk in, you know—here I can be myself, with everything I bring.
